TDM.Space x Shop Drop Daily — Introducing “Notes From…”
We’re pleased to announce a new editorial collaboration between TDM.Space and Shop Drop Daily, launching with the first edition of our ongoing series: Notes from Ginza.
“Notes From…” is a new TDM.Space feature focused on documenting standout retail environments in major cities around the world — approached with the same level of care, precision and post-production as our commissioned work.
The series begins in Tokyo, where our Creative Director Tom Morgan spent time walking through Ginza, capturing a selection of the district’s most considered flagship stores. The result is a set of clean, carefully composed images that focus on architecture, material, proportion and overall presence — a more considered alternative to the quick snapshots these spaces are often reduced to.
We’re pleased to be launching the series in collaboration with Shop Drop Daily, who are hosting Notes from Ginza as an exclusive feature.

This marks the start of an ongoing collaboration, with future editions already planned across New York, Paris, London and beyond.

Why Retail Design Is Becoming Your Brand’s Most Powerful Marketing Channel
And how the right content ensures it doesn’t go unnoticed.
For years, the industry conversation has been about the death of the high street and the rise of e-commerce. Yet, walk past a new Versace flagship in Seoul, a Dior boutique in Paris, or a Selfridges concept floor in London — and it’s clear: bricks-and-mortar hasn’t died. It’s just evolved.
Today’s flagship store, pop-up, or retail fit-out isn’t just a place to buy products, it’s a stage, a statement, and a story all at once. It’s where brand worlds come to life, where design meets experience, and where the physical moment becomes the marketing campaign.
The store as a stage, the launch as a moment
Think about the planning, investment and creative thinking that goes into a high-profile retail launch: months of design work, global creative direction, VM rollouts, experiential activations, influencer tie-ins. And yet, too often, the only people who truly experience it are those who physically walk through the doors.
The most forward-thinking brands are changing that. They’re treating the launch itself as a content moment, using every square metre as an asset to be captured, shared and leveraged across:
- PR & Press – Same-day media coverage with editorial-ready visuals
- Digital & Social – Short-form video and stills optimised for multiple platforms
- Internal Comms – Global brand teams aligned on a single visual language
- Retail Portfolios & Pitches – Using the launch to win the next location
Why visuals are the multiplier
The store might be the physical stage, but it’s the visuals that keep the show running after the opening day. Strong retail launch content can:
- Extend the lifespan of your activation from days to months
- Ensure consistency across regions and markets
- Support every touchpoint; social, e-commerce, press, investor decks, recruitment
- Become the blueprint for future rollouts
But for that to work, the content has to be captured right: on brand, on brief, and on time.
Where speed and quality meet
This is where many retail campaigns falter. You can build the most spectacular store in the world, but if your launch content trickles out over a week, the moment is gone.
At TDM.Space, we work with luxury and global retail brands to make sure that never happens. Our crews in key cities around the world capture and deliver press-ready images within 24 hours, often the same day, ensuring:
- Global consistency – One visual language, from Tokyo to Paris
- Local authenticity – Crews embedded in each market, minimising cost and carbon
- Operational ease – Single point of contact, seamless delivery, zero reshoots
A new mindset for retail marketing
If your store is the campaign, your content team is as critical as your design team. Ideally, that means thinking about capture early, so your launch visuals are planned with as much intent as the physical space itself.
But here’s the reality: launches move fast, and content capture is often the afterthought. That’s where TDM.Space stands apart. We’re built to step in at speed, whether you brief us weeks in advance or the day before opening. Our crews are in key cities worldwide, ready to capture, edit and deliver visuals that look like they were part of the plan all along.
It’s this agility, combined with our understanding of both creative intent and commercial outcomes, that ensures your launch is seen, shared and remembered.
The Final Word
Your next store opening isn’t just a ribbon-cutting ceremony, it’s a global marketing moment waiting to happen. Make it one worth remembering.
If you’d like to see how brands like Adidas, New Balance and Dior are using launch visuals to drive PR, digital engagement and global alignment, drop us a message.

Notes from… Ginza
A new ongoing series from TDM.Space.
Notes From… documents exceptional retail streets and flagship environments around the world — captured with the same level of care, precision and post-production we apply to commissioned work.
Rather than quick snapshots, each edition is a considered study of place: architecture, materials, light, and the way brands express themselves in physical space.
The series begins in Tokyo with Notes from Ginza — one of the most refined and architecturally ambitious retail districts anywhere in the world — and will continue across key cities including Paris, New York, London and Shanghai.
Notes from Ginza…
On a recent trip to Tokyo, TDM.Space Creative Director Tom Morgan spent an afternoon walking through Ginza with a camera, documenting some of the district’s most striking flagship stores. No brief. No client. Just time to walk and observe. Ginza remains one of the most remarkable retail environments in the world. Within just a few streets you find an extraordinary concentration of flagship architecture — buildings designed by leading architects, façades that function almost like sculptures, and interiors executed with exceptional precision.
For anyone working in retail design, architecture or brand environments, it’s a place that rewards close attention. What stands out in Ginza is the restraint and confidence in the design. The best stores don’t rely on spectacle; instead they focus on materials, proportion, light and craft. Every detail feels deliberate. These spaces represent the work of many disciplines — brand teams, architects, retail designers, VM teams and fabricators — yet they are often documented quickly, without the time or craft needed to properly capture them.
This walk through Ginza has sparked a new TDM.Space feature: Notes From… A series where Tom Morgan and the wider TDM.Space team spend time walking key retail districts around the world, documenting the most interesting flagship stores and brand environments encountered along the way. The images are captured and post-produced using the same approach applied to commissioned work — carefully composed frames, clean architectural lines and meticulous post-production — giving these environments the same level of attention they were designed with.
Tom has kicked the series off in Ginza, with future editions already forming: Notes from Paris Notes from New York Notes from Shanghai Notes from London If you’re interested in licensing or using any of the images from the series, please contact [email protected].
Retail Landscape in Ginza
Walking through Ginza, flagship stores from brands such as Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Bottega Veneta define the streetscape. Tiffany & Co, Gucci, Burberry, Moncler and Tory Burch each maintain a significant presence here — some occupying entire buildings, others taking prominent corner positions along Chuo-dori and Namiki-dori. The density of luxury retail in Ginza is unlike almost anywhere else in the world. Within a few blocks, you move between architectural statements from competing houses — each building designed to express the brand at its most refined.
Materials, lighting, window treatments and façade design are all executed at the highest level, making Ginza one of the most visually rich retail environments we have encountered. For anyone working in retail photography, Ginza offers an extraordinary concentration of subject matter. The variety of architectural approaches — from minimalist concrete to ornate glass and steel — means every corner presents a different visual challenge. It is a street that rewards careful observation, and one that we will continue to return to.

Seen Studios – Levi’s – Mini Bag – Regent Street – London
TDM.Space photographed Levi’s window installation on Regent Street, capturing a series of stills focused on visual merchandising and design detail.
While smaller in scale than full retail takeovers, window installations like these play a critical role in brand communication — often acting as the first point of interaction between brand and customer.
The shoot focused on accurately documenting materials, lighting, and composition, ensuring the visual intent of the design was preserved across all outputs.
Delivered within a 48-hour turnaround, the imagery supports both internal brand use and external communications.
Seen Studios – Levi’s – Selfridges – London
TDM.Space was commissioned to document Levi’s takeover of the Selfridges windows — a large-scale retail installation designed to capture attention across one of London’s most high-profile shopping destinations.
The project was photographed across both daytime and nighttime conditions to fully represent how the installation performs throughout the day. From natural light interactions to fully illuminated evening displays, the shift in atmosphere plays a key role in how the space is experienced.
Retail window takeovers of this scale are designed not just for visual impact, but for consistency across multiple touchpoints — from in-person experience to digital and press use. Capturing this requires both speed and precision.
The London TDM.Space team delivered a full set of stills within a 48-hour turnaround, ensuring the brand had immediate access to high-quality imagery for ongoing campaigns and communications.

Why Retail Photography Matters for Brand Identity
In an era where consumers interact with brands across dozens of digital touchpoints before ever stepping into a store, the quality of your retail photography directly shapes how your brand is perceived. Yet many brands still treat store photography as an afterthought — a quick phone snap sent to head office, or a rushed set of images squeezed into the end of an installation day.
At TDM.Space, we believe retail environments deserve the same photographic attention as the products they house. Here is why investing in professional retail photography is one of the smartest brand decisions you can make.
Your Store Is Your Biggest Brand Asset
A flagship store represents millions in investment — from the architectural concept and interior design through to the fixtures, materials and visual merchandising. It is the physical embodiment of a brand’s identity. Brands like Burberry, Dior and Nike understand this, investing heavily in environments that tell a story the moment you walk through the door.
Professional retail photography captures that story faithfully. It documents the precision of the design, the quality of the materials and the atmosphere of the space in a way that communicates the brand’s values to anyone who sees the images — whether they are a consumer on Instagram, a journalist writing a review, or a board member evaluating the return on a capital project.

Consistency Across Global Markets
For brands operating across multiple cities and regions, visual consistency is essential. A store opening in London should be documented to the same standard as one in Tokyo or New York. This is why global brands increasingly work with specialist retail photography studios that can deliver consistent quality worldwide, rather than relying on local general photographers in each market.
TDM.Space has delivered retail photography across more than 15 cities globally, working with established local crews who understand both the brand standards and the retail environment on the ground.

Content That Works Harder
Well-crafted retail photography serves multiple purposes: press and PR for store launches, social media content across owned channels, internal reporting and documentation for design and VM teams, investor and stakeholder presentations, and website and e-commerce visual assets. A single well-planned shoot can generate content that serves all of these needs, making it one of the most efficient marketing investments a retail brand can make.

The Difference Professional Makes
The gap between amateur and professional retail photography is immediately apparent. Clean architectural lines, accurate colour representation, considered compositions that draw the eye through the space, and meticulous post-production that removes distractions while preserving the integrity of the design — these are the hallmarks of specialist retail photography.
When Chanel launches a new window concept on Bond Street or Gymshark opens its first New York flagship, the images need to match the ambition of the project. Anything less undermines the investment.

Commission Your Next Shoot
If your brand is planning a store opening, seasonal campaign, or simply wants to raise the standard of its retail imagery, we would welcome the conversation. Get in touch or explore our work across London, Paris, New York and Tokyo.
What to Expect from a Retail Photography Shoot
Whether you are a brand manager preparing for a flagship opening or a design agency coordinating a store refresh, understanding the retail photography process helps ensure a smoother shoot and stronger results.
At TDM.Space, we have photographed hundreds of retail environments across London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and beyond. This guide walks through what a typical retail photography shoot looks like from start to finish.
Before the Shoot — Briefing and Preparation
Every project begins with a detailed brief. We discuss the scope of the shoot, the number of locations, the visual style required and any brand guidelines that need to be followed. For global brands, this often involves aligning with regional marketing teams and ensuring consistency across multiple markets.
We also conduct a location recce where possible — either in person or via video call — to understand the space, assess lighting conditions and identify key angles. This preparation is what separates considered architectural photography from quick documentation shots.

On the Day — What Happens During a Retail Shoot
A typical shoot day begins early, often before the store opens to the public. This gives us uninterrupted access to capture the space at its best — displays freshly set, lighting calibrated and no customer traffic.
We work methodically through the space: wide establishing shots of the full store environment, mid-range compositions focusing on key displays and merchandising zones, and close-up detail shots of materials, fixtures and product presentations. For brands like Nike, Burberry and Chanel, capturing the precision of visual merchandising is as important as the architecture itself.
If video is part of the brief, we shoot walkthrough footage and motion content alongside the stills, ensuring both formats work together as a cohesive set.

After the Shoot — Post-Production and Delivery
Post-production is where the images are refined. Every frame is colour-graded, perspective-corrected and retouched to ensure clean architectural lines and accurate material representation. We remove distracting elements, balance lighting across frames and ensure the final set presents the space as it was designed to be seen.
Typical turnaround is 5 to 10 working days for a standard set, with rush delivery available when needed. Files are delivered in multiple formats — high-resolution for print, web-optimised for digital use and social-ready crops where required.

What Brands Should Prepare
To get the most from a retail photography shoot, we recommend brands ensure the store is fully merchandised and VM-complete before the shoot date, provide brand guidelines and any specific shot lists in advance, arrange early-morning or after-hours access where possible, and confirm whether the images will be used for internal documentation, press, social media or all of the above — as this influences our approach.

If you are planning a store opening, seasonal refresh or ongoing retail documentation programme, we would be glad to hear from you. Get in touch to discuss your project, or explore our London retail photography and Tokyo retail photography services.

Retail Visuals That Work
The shots that look good AND drive results — and how we help brands land both.
There’s beautiful content — and then there’s content that works. At TDM.Space, we’re here for both.
We shoot high-end visuals, yes. But more importantly, we deliver retail visuals with a job to do — whether that’s to drive press, increase footfall, support pitch decks, or sell the story of a campaign long after the doors open.
And let’s be honest — too many visuals out there fall flat. They may look pretty, seem polished but they don’t retouch to our standards; reflections aren’t removed, other brand names are still present, they’re built for surface-level looks, not strategic use.

What a ‘retail visual that works’ actually does:
- Stops someone scrolling online
- Gets picked up by press without needing explanation
- Gives your VM team ammunition for the next pitch
- Shows global brand leads exactly what happened at launch
- Gets reused again and again across channels and campaigns
This isn’t just creative, it’s operationally smart.

Here’s what ‘working’ looks like in real life:
- Chanel – Campaign Launch, London – We delivered same-day stills used in press across five countries, plus internal decks that helped align teams in multiple regions.
- Adidas – Montrose, Los Angeles – Hero images and video of their new store on Melrose in Hollywood with images delivered same day to same-day digital coverage and became the key asset for their global visual merchandising recap.
- New Balance Global Rollout – 25+ cities, unified output, one visual language across 12 weeks of seasonal campaign support.
That’s content that lives beyond the opening day. It becomes an asset — not just a record.

3 shots every retail launch needs (and why):
- The Hero Shot – The one PR and social will use. Framed perfectly. No clutter. Big impact.
- The Detail Cut – What shows your intent. Materials, textures, small moments. The close-up that sells it.
- The Consumer Journey – How it felt. How people moved through it. How the brand came to life.
Together, those 3 angles give you everything you need to justify the work, promote the success, and prep for the next.

We don’t just shoot spaces. We shoot purpose.
Your store isn’t just a shop. It’s a campaign moment. Your activation isn’t just an event. It’s a press and digital play. Your visual content should reflect that — and be built with that outcome in mind.
We work with retail, brand and agency teams who don’t just want great-looking shots. They want visuals that deliver value. That support decisions. That justify investment.
If that’s you, you’re our people. Let’s make it work harder.

We were commissioned by Dreamlab, a creative design studio, to document their latest experiential retail activation at Westfield Stratford.
With only a short window for capture, our London crew delivered a focused stills shoot — prioritising design details, environmental context, and visitor engagement.
The brief required urgent same-day delivery of imagery for PR usage across press and social — ensuring maximum exposure during the live event.
Another example of how fast-turnaround storytelling drives immediate brand impact.
Gymshark – Roosevelt Field Mall – NYC
Performance meets precision: capturing Gymshark’s first permanent U.S. store.
As a trusted partner for Gymshark’s global storytelling, TDM.Space was asked to cover the opening of the brand’s first full-scale retail space at Roosevelt Field Mall, New York.
Following last year’s successful SoHo pop-up, our New York team was once again on the ground to document this milestone moment. The focus was on translating Gymshark’s performance-driven identity into an elevated retail experience.
This project focused on delivering high-quality stills for global comms, with a split turnaround:
10 urgent images delivered the same day
10 additional selects finalised the following day
Shot before doors opened to maximise access and minimise disruption, the brief focused on spatial layout, community interaction zones, and the brand’s signature blend of performance and culture.
As Gymshark expands into new markets, we’re proud to help them capture — and share — each retail milestone in real time, another example of how precision, consistency, and speed turn retail design into compelling brand content.
TDM.Space Interviewed by Frame
How luxury brands are rethinking launches.
Tom Morgan, Founder and Creative Director of TDM.Space, was interviewed by Frame, a leading global publisher dedicated to interior design and retail innovation. In the conversation with Siem Wolfs, Tom discusses how retail launches are evolving, how technology is reshaping storytelling, and why luxury’s new era is about authenticity as much as innovation.
“The biggest change we’ve noticed is the shift toward experiences”, says Tom. “A launch used to be about unveiling a pristine store design and then distributing a handful of images afterwards. Now, it’s about creating a moment that feels lived in.”
Nike – Sports Direct – Oxford Street
A first-time collaboration with Nike’s Sports Direct team — and a project built around product-first storytelling.
Working across stills and video, we captured the latest Nike activation at Sports Direct’s Oxford Street flagship. From front-of-house hero zones to in-store displays, the focus was clear: show how product, environment, and retail experience work together to pull people in.
Shot pre-trading to ensure clean visuals and fast delivery, this project placed design and display at the centre — using scale, colour, and spatial layout to draw attention where it matters most.
With our London crew on the ground and a rapid post-production workflow, press-ready assets were turned around within 24 hours — ensuring Nike’s content could land across PR, social and brand channels without delay.
Another example of how great retail design becomes great retail content, when you capture it at the right moment.
Dr. Martens – ZebZag – Milan

For the latest phase of Dr. Martens’ campaign rollout, we captured their Milan flagship store using our local crew on the ground — delivering consistent, high-impact visuals aligned with the brand’s London output.

Working closely with the team at Your Studio, we delivered a focused set of 40 stills highlighting the store’s clean palette, product-forward layout and immersive, skincare-first aesthetic.
From bold product walls to soft backlit zones, this space is a physical extension of Skin Cupid’s digital identity — and a statement debut for the brand on UK high streets.
Another step forward in our ongoing partnership with Your Studio.

Regent Street & Bond Street
This project saw us back on location for Burberry, capturing their latest Winter ’25 Collection campaign across two of their most iconic London locations — Regent Street and Bond Street.

Working at pace and to exacting brand standards, our team delivered over 40 press-ready stills by the next working day, ready for global PR, social and internal use.
For high-end campaigns like these, where every angle must be intentional and every frame editorial-ready, brands come to us because they know we’ll land it.

Sunst Studio – Nike – Berlin Marathon Expo
This month, we reunited with Berlin-based Sunst Studio to support their Nike Expo campaign across two major European cities — Copenhagen and Berlin.
With trusted local operators in each location, we captured a series of stills tailored to the campaign’s creative direction, all without flying a single crew member. It’s a process that saves time, reduces carbon, and keeps visual consistency locked in — something Nike and Sunst Studio know they can rely on.
Both shoots were delivered on fast turnarounds, with each city operating in sync but independently — the kind of cross-border collaboration that sits at the heart of the TDM.Space model.
More from this campaign soon.
TDM.Space Featured in 365 Retail
We’re proud to share that TDM.Space has been featured in 365 Retail, showcasing our work with New Balance on their ambitious multi-city store rollout across Europe.

Multi-site. Multi-crew. Maximum impact.

New Balance – Leeds & Munich
Six stores. Five countries. One System.
In early April, New Balance activated six key retail locations — Kildare, Leeds, Munich, London, Rome and Berlin.
Last Friday we shot Leeds and Munich on the same day. TDM.Space deployed dual photography and video teams to capture each opening in real time.
The timeline was tight. So was the coordination.
But this is what we’ve built for — creative production at scale, without compromise. Within hours, both cities had a priority image set in circulation. By the next day, full visuals were delivered: edited and ready to go live.
This pace works because the system does — we’ve built a framework shaped by experience and refined through trust, repetition and timing. Leeds and Munich opened the month. Berlin will close it.
